Mesa Verde National Park
In the summer of 2005 my family stopped off at Mesa Verde National Park on the way home from a family reunion. This park was highly recommended to us by a friend who had visited a few times. The history is fascinating. I am so klutzy walking on flat ground that I can't imagine having to climb up and down cliff edges to make my home. There are several cliff dwellings you can visit, but due to the exposure we could only take the children to Cliff Palace. The kids completed the Junior Ranger Program at the park. If you get a chance to go to the National Parks and have the time to work on the Junior Ranger Program you and the children will get a great history lesson of the different areas. This is a park we definitely want to revisit.
